Ministerial Manual
Introduction
This manual deals with policy and procedure in Conservative Mennonite Conference and member congregations in regard to ministerial call and assignment. It deals with ministerial designations, qualifications, selection, ordination and license, credentials, and transfers as well as pastoral selection and assignment and related points of intersection between the local congregation and the Conference.
This manual does not include aspects of the pastor's work such as conducting baptisms, weddings, funerals, and communion and feet washing services. The ministries of preaching, teaching, counseling, and discipline in the congregation are not treated in this manual.
This document is relevant to the work of overseers and other church leaders involved in leading or officiating in ministerial matters such as ordination, licensing, and calling and installing pastors. Thus the title, "Ministerial Manual."
