Duration of Term as Minister

Length of term of ordination is indefinite, often for life, but subject to continued personal qualification and active ministry (before retirement age) represented by ordination. See 1210 in this Manual, "Policy on Ministerial Membership in CMC."

Length of term of an initial license may be up to two years. Extension of up to two years per extension, for a total of four years of licensure, may be issued. After four consecutive years of licensure, ministerial status should be moved to ordination or be discontinued. Exceptional cases may be recognized and approved by the Executive Board. Ordination may be effected at any time during the time of license per regular process of ordination.
